If you are staying in Sheffield this summer and not sure what to do, make sure you get out of your flat as Sheffield has lots of treats and activities organised for you. We are hoping you will find at least one event in Sheffield Property to Let Summer for Students in Sheffield guide.
We cannot fail to mention Tramlines, Sheffield’s biggest party, held in Hillsborough Park on the weekend 20-22nd July. It is the 10th anniversary of this 3-day music festival and so they are celebrating in style. The event costs £79 for a weekend ticket. This year Stereophonics and Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds headline, amongst more than 70 other bands and acts.
Sounds like a music festival, however, this is the home of the British Bouldering Competition. The festival for climbers, mountain bikers and skateboarders, alongside everything outdoorsy. As Sheffield is sometimes called the outdoor city, it makes sense, that we hold this annual celebration of all things outdoor. The admission is FREE! Small charges for some activities is to be expected. Held on the weekend of 6th-8th July in the city centre.
Keeping with a sporty theme is the British Summer swimming championships, held at Ponds Forge on 24th-29th July. This is where to watch the future stars on their journey towards medal-winning success.
Love dressing up in vintage 40’s style, then Kelham Island Museum’s 40’s weekend Vintage Fayre should be on your calendar. Held on the 14th-15th July and in its 9th year, this event is getting bigger every year. Homefront re-enactments, food, and clothes along with living music and the now famous Afternoon Tea Dance.
The Beer and Bangers comedy nights held at Whirlow farm are bellyaching fun. The next one is on 30th June, although if you miss that, there is another in October. Strictly over 18s and do wrap up warm as the event is held in the lambing barn.
Toby Fosters Last Laugh is held weekly at Sheffield City Hall, for your regular shot of rib-tickling laughter.
Michael Macintyre is at the DSA Arena on the 23rd June, do book quickly for your tickets!
For pure magical amazement and dreamy performances, then the Cirque du Soleil is the night out for you. They are appearing at the DSA Arena on the 22nd-26th August. This performance is based on co-existence with nature and called OVO.
