Well kids, Halloween is just around the corner, and do you know what that means? It’s P.A.R.T.Y time! Yes, the hangover of Fresher’s week has just about faded, and Bonfire Night seems like a long way off (there’s a least an entire week to go!) so we all need something to fill the long autumn nights of Reading Week, and what better than a Halloween party?!? (It beats reading, that’s for sure.)
Halloween is on the 31st October and is an ancient tradition of scaring away the ghosts and ghouls. The American tradition of trick or treat has made it across the pond, and so you are likely to get a hoard of children dressed up, knocking at your door, begging for sweets and treats. So here are a few you can make to appease these little devils, or yourselves if you prefer.
Let us be honest, everyone will have to cope with a mental health issue within their lifetime. We all experience loss, grief, pain, fear, depression, sadness at some point. These emotions and how we deal with them depends on how robust our mental health at the time. We cannot expect to feel 100% all the time. The problems arise when we feel we cannot cope with the present situation.
September is almost over, the long summer days are but a distant memory, time for work, school, college and University. If you are thinking about ending your life, then just know that this is a perfectly normal reaction to an enormous amount of stress, but it is also a warning sign that you need to seek help. Before you research methods, just know that suicide is not painless. It is not the best way to solve any issues you are having. It is probably not even the solution you are looking for. You do not have to feel this way and you certainly do not need to struggle alone.
This week is world water week, a symposium held in Sweden every year to look at global water issues. Here we shall look at what you can do to conserve and reuse water in your apartment. Not only will you help save water, your water bill will be lower.

So, we thought we would look at ways you can go plastic-free in the UK and particularly in Sheffield.
You are so lucky in living in Sheffield, with one of the UK’s best natural playgrounds right next door to the city! The Peak District was the first National park created in the UK. Here are a few walks you might enjoy completing during your stay in this wonderful outdoorsy city.
